Grand Lake is located about two hours' drive from Denver. There are two often-used routes to get to Grand Lake.

One is to take I-70 west past Idaho Springs and turn north on Colorado Highway 40 (I-70 exit 232). Proceed north through Berthoud Pass, Winter Park and Granby. Just after passing through Granby, take Colorado Highway 34 and continue on to Grand Lake.

An alternate route which is open only between Memorial Day and Labor Day is to take I-25 north from Denver and get on Colorado Highway 34 which will take you through Estes Park and on over Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park. To find the Terrace Inn once you're in Grand Lake, just stay on Grand Avenue (the main street), it'll be on your left about a half-mile after the entrance to Grand Lake.
